When you've made a mistake in life sometimes apologizing is harder than walking away

Making mistakes in life is inevitable.  No matter how many mistakes we've made, apologizing doesn't seem to get any easier.  I find, especially with my children, that apologizing in some round about way admits defeat. When you are supposed to be the authoratative figure, admitting that you are wrong can be a tough pill to swallow.  The more you recognize when you are wrong and can apologize, the more respect you will ultimately gain in life.   A sleepless night's lingering thought..
